Former Haas boss Guenther Steiner reflects on the progress made by the team in 2024 in an exclusive RacingNews365 interview.
Haas F1 team principal Guenther Steiner credited Simone Resta, now with Mercedes, for Haas’s improved performance this season. Resta left Haas in January 2024, after the team’s struggles with high tire wear in the 2023 season. With Resta’s help, Haas drivers Hulkenberg and Magnussen have earned 28 points and are competing for sixth place. Despite Haas’s recent technical alliance with Toyota, Steiner emphasized that the team’s success is “relative.” Steiner praised Resta’s contributions to developing Haas’s competitive car for this season, highlighting the improvements made under Resta’s oversight at Maranello. He acknowledged Resta’s role in enhancing Haas’s performance and credited him for the team’s progress.
