Tony Hazlewood, a legendary figure in agriculture, racing, and as a co-founder of the Super Saloon Drivers’ Association with Mick Hill, passed away at the age of 87 earlier this month. Despite being bed-bound and unable to communicate for over ten years due to illness, his impact was profound. His wife Angie also sadly passed away recently. Hazlewood’s racing career began with Minis in the 1960s and evolved into creating the beloved Special Saloons car with the DAF 55 Coupe shell. He set records and continued to be a key figure in the racing scene, even venturing into manufacturing off-road vehicles later in his career. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched and the machines he created.
