FP1 went trouble-free, but a red flag was required in FP2.
Alex Albon caused a temporary stoppage in the Las Vegas Grand Prix Free Practice 2 when his Williams car came to a halt due to a fuel system issue. Despite having missed a significant portion of the session already, Albon was trying to go out for another run when he encountered a problem with his gears, forcing him to stop on the track. Williams confirmed the recurrence of the issue and attempted to fix it but without success, leading to the car halting again on the track. Albon’s red flag incident was short-lived as he stopped at a marshal point for quick assistance, although the session had to be briefly paused for marshals to reach the track. The team indicated they would investigate the problem further after the session.
