Quartararo on heavy MotoGP tyre wear: ‘The question is, can we finish the race?’
Fabio Quartararo finished 12th in the half-distance race at Losail International Circuit, facing tire degradation and lack of pace issues throughout the weekend. Despite tempered expectations, Quartararo found the extent of tire wear in the race to be “really strange.” Sticking with medium tires, he couldn’t explain the heavy degradation experienced in the sprint race. His teammate Alex Rins also struggled with tire wear, finishing 17th and emphasizing the need to manage rear tire performance. Both Yamaha riders faced challenges with tire degradation in the sprint, raising concerns for the full 22-lap race on Sunday.
