The team was supposed to conduct an endurance test at the venue, which is often used to prepare for Le Mans due to its resemblance to Circuit de la Sarthe. All six FIA World Endurance Championship drivers of the team, including reserve driver Jules Gounon, were present. Unfortunately, Habsburg’s severe crash at Turn 7 halted the test with the single A424 car. He suffered two fractured lumbar vertebrae but no neurological impact. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, casting doubt on his participation in the upcoming 6 Hours of Imola. Alpine has expressed full support for Habsburg and hopes for his swift recovery.
