Japanese Moto3: Momentum with Masia after breakaway win
Masia converted his pole position into a victory for the second race in a row. He dominated the Moto3 race and took control from the start. He pulled away from the lead group as they battled each other, giving him a comfortable lead. Masia led over the line with a gap of 1.546s. Oncu’s desperate attempt to stay in touch led to his downfall as he crashed out. Sasaki tried to catch up to Masia, but the gap was too large. Holgado and Sasaki had a battle for second place, with Holgado ultimately finishing in third. Nepa, Alonso, and Ortola had a close battle for fourth place. Toba, Yamanaka, and Rueda completed the top ten. Veijer, Furusato, Rossi, Moreira, and Kelso finished in the remaining points positions.
