‘Unhappy’ FIA will look to close loophole Red Bull exposed with Perez
Perez had a disastrous race at Suzuka, colliding with Hamilton and Magnussen and receiving multiple penalties. He was initially called in to retire his car but was bizarrely sent back out to serve a penalty that could potentially be carried over to the next race. Eventually, Perez was called back into the pits to retire for good. The FIA is keen to address the loophole in the rules that allowed Red Bull to exploit the situation and may implement stricter penalties in the future. While clever, the FIA is reportedly not too pleased with Red Bull’s strategy.
