Williams and Mercedes have announced the extension of their partnership until at least the 2030 season, which has been met with delight by both parties. Mercedes has been supplying power units to Williams since 2014, during which time Williams achieved success with podium finishes and third place in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. Williams Team Principal, James Vowles, expressed excitement about the collaboration and stated that the expertise and support of Mercedes align perfectly with their long-term goals. The agreement with Mercedes is seen as a positive step for Williams as they retain their design and manufacturing capabilities in-house. With new power unit regulations coming into play in 2026, Mercedes is set to supply its own works team as well as Williams. Mercedes Team Principal, Toto Wolff, emphasized the strength of the Mercedes offering in Formula 1 and their commitment to supporting Williams as they strive to challenge at the front of the grid.
